Hary Lovell
Harry Lovell pictured in the kitchen garden at Glendon aged about 60 years.

Harry Lovell was born in Merley in 1914. He married his wife, Phyllis, in 1946 and they had two daughters, Margaret and Mavis. In 1949/1950 he was employed as a gardener on the Glendon Estate. From 1979 till 1984 Harry kept the churchyard at St Hubert's neat and tidy. He died in 2004.

Both Margaret and Mavis sang in the choir at St Hubert's under choir masters, Richard White and Andrew Jones. Mavis was married in the church in 1971 and still lives in the village.
