In 1936 Glendon was bought by Sir Claude and Lady Frances Morrison-Bell. Their daughter, Lady Veronica inherited the property. Lady Veronica married John Stonborough and they had three children, Jerome, Margaret and Johnny.

Lady Veronica Stonborough

Lady Veronica was involved with the redecoration of St Hubert's Church and painted many of the beautiful bosses on the ceiling.

The last branch of the family to live in the house was Johnny, his wife Jane and the two children, Hugh and Eloise. The estate was sold in April, 2007.

Many people from the village have been associated with or worked on the estate: Harry and Phyllis Lovell, Mr Rose, Mr and Mrs Thorpe, Wilhemina Degenfeld, Jean Scammell, Peter Stainer and Gillian D'Orton Gibson to name a few.
