The cabinet containing the Book of Remembrance was donated by Kitty R Stone and Cyril; N V House in memory of:
Frances (1861-1942) and William Atkins (1859-1919)
Edith (1885-1959) and George Atkins (1888-1969)
Edith (1890 - 1962) and Vernon House (1893-1969)
George Arnold RN (1916-1942)
Edith House (nee Atkins) only daughter of Frances and William Atkins, late of Home Farm, Corfe Mullen, was a regular attender at St Hubert's Church and a member of the choir. She was also for a time secretary of the local branch of the Primrose League. She was married on 2nd August 1920 by the late Rev: Canon Eddrup to Melville Vernon, second son of Frances and Joseph House. On completion of service with the Royal Naval Division in the First World War, Vernon joined the Dorset Constabulary and was the first policeman to be stationed at Corfe Mullen. He and his wife resided at 'Beacon View' Wareham Road where their only son, Cyril, was born and later christened at St Hubert's. Constable House was instrumental in forming Corfe Mullen Cricket Club for which he played until his transfer to Bishop's Caundle. Both Edith and Vernon House are laid to rest in Corfe Mullen cemetery.
